This has got to be one of the sweetest faces I have ever seen. Well, her
baby was was quite a looker too, but there was something so special
about this mother's personality, her maturity and her gaze that just
captured my heart. One of my favorite parts of this
painting is the way the sun back-lights her fur, almost making it look golden around
the edges. The warm golds and ambers contrasting with the cooler blues and
grays of the shaded part of her face make for a very exciting color
combination.
