ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This particular piece, inspired by a trip along the Oregon
coast, has something to say about life. It's about the
push and the pull, the art of balancing the calm and the
turbulence.
I used the differences and tension of nature as a theme
throughout this piece. If something curved one way, I
added something else that curved the opposite way. If a
blade of grass stood upright, I added a downturned,
reflective, piece. Where there was a hint of blue, I snuck
in a hint of orange (its
complimentary
color).
Some days I like heading out to the ocean, running as fast
as I can. Other days, I like just standing in the
foreground and feeling my toes melt in to the calmness of
the sea.
