These are a few of my
favorite things. The vase is fashioned after a piece of
Moorcroft pottery from the 1940's. My husband and I both
tried our hand at pottery and after many failed
attempts at vases we can certainly appreciate the
workmanship and artistry it takes to accomplish a piece as
perfect as this vase. For this painting, I combined
the smooth texture of the vase with the coarser
textures of the wooden bowl and (found) seashells. I added
the beach glass to balance the color and smoothness of the
vase and to add surfaces for reflected light. |
