A couple years ago, we
tossed out some daisy seeds right next to the beach grass
that lines the path leading to our little stretch of
beach. Now the daisies stand as tall as the beach grass
and just like the beach grasses they sway back and forth
in the summer breeze. The daisies are such a bright and
welcoming sight along the trail that they have become one
of my favorite flowers. When I walk down the trail, I take
my time walking past the daisies because I love to watch
the sun bounce off the individual petals. For this
painting, I attempted to capture the pureness of the
summer sun as it dances across the daisies' petals. The
detail image shows the myriad of colors used to create the
shadows on the pedals. |
